On June 23, 2020, a briefing “New opportunities for education in communities” dedicated to the launch of the Swiss-Ukrainian Project DECIDE was held in Luhansk Oblast.
“Switzerland supports Ukraine towards establishing the values of democracy and human rights. That is why Switzerland seeks to contribute to important institutional reforms such as education reform and decentralization, as well as to promote the social and economic development of the regions.
The Swiss-Ukrainian Project DECIDE is implemented in Ukraine with the support of Switzerland, represented by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
It is intended to create new opportunities for sustainable development of oblast, to ensure creation of opportunities for development of educational network of the region”, said Ilona Postemska, National Programme Officer of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Ukraine.
“Switzerland has a positive experience of democratic education management. For many years, Swiss citizens have been involved in the formation and implementation of educational policies at the community level, creation of system of education quality management, and so on. We are sure that the Swiss experience will be important for development of new education of Luhansk Oblast – education of equal opportunities”, said Rolf Gollob, Head of the team of strategic experts of DECIDE Project, Zurich University of Teacher Education.
The event was attended by representatives of the amalgamated territorial communities, teachers, representatives of Luhansk Regional State Administration and the media.
