This year, the August conference ‘Education In A Pandemic: How To Organize the 2020-2021 Academic Year’ started online on August 18.
The conference was supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine in the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian project DECIDE, which is implemented by the Consortium of NGO DOCCU and Zurich Pedagogical University.
At the annual educational forum, the speakers spoke about the peculiarities of the organization of anti-epidemic measures in educational institutions during the quarantine period; on recommendations for the organization of the educational process 2020-2021 academic year in kindergartens, schools, vocational schools, colleges and universities in a pandemic; on international standards for the return of schools to teaching in a pandemic.
Eileen Hofstetter, Senior Advisor at the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine, spoke at the All-Ukrainian August 2020 Conference: ‘No country in the world has ready-made ‘recipes’ for how to start a new academic year – they do not exist in Ukraine or Switzerland. No one was ready for these new challenges! It is important today to unite the efforts of teachers, students, parents, school heads and society as a whole. Today, Switzerland is following the same path as Ukraine and the whole world. We believe that our strength is in unity and solidarity!’ – said Ms. Hofstetter.
