Platform containing key information on reforming the school catering system will appear in Ukraine. DECIDE project together with partners: Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, UNICEF Ukraine and the Swiss-Ukrainian Acting for Health project – discussed its main concept.

‘The need to develop the portal arose during communication with education authorities in the communities, employees of educational institutions, as well as parents. We plan to launch the basic version this summer’, said the President’s wife Olena Zelenska.

It is planned that online platform will help collect useful information on healthy eating, role of a varied diet and risks caused by unhealthy eating and obesity.

‘DECIDE project with assistance of the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in Ukraine fully supports the development of information portal on catering reform. In particular, we are working on developing a series of guidelines for local government managers and heads of educational institutions on procurement and implementation of HACCP system.

We also planned to develop a series of videos aimed at explaining to the founders what the catering unit, buffet and dining hall should look like’, said Valentyna Poltorak, manager of DECIDE project.
